The Butterfly

The butterfly is very popular in Jerusalem where women combine two different colored scarves to create a more sensational head piece. Two scarves also add body and height to your head. The butterfly can be worn with any two square scarves. This tie is especially nice when a fringed scarf is tied over an unfringed scarf. Our model is wearing our gauzy cotton scarf in navy and our silver threaded floral scarf in olive.

Step 1:
Fold the first scarf in a triangle and place it evenly over your head.
Step 2:
Fold the second scarf in a triangle and place it over the first scarf. Place it one inch further back than the first scarf. The bottom scarf should be slightly visible at your temple (forehead) if you are looking at yourself in the mirror.
Step 3:
Now gently take the 1-inch that's protruding from underneath the first scarf and carefully fold it over the second scarf.
Step 4:
Take all four ends (be careful that the 'fold' doesn't not 'undo') and tie the scarf in the back of your head like you normally would. The four tails (2 from each scarf) should be pushed back behind your shoulder. Beautiful! has not reviewed these ads and is not responsible for their content.
